I notice that some people I know seem to think they’re as necessary to life as eating and breathing, and yet I see other people go through life without any relationships and do just fine. It’s a remarkable phenomenon.

Opinions vary, and so do positions in life. Some feel that relationships are crucial in their happiness, while others are in no position to entertain a relationship. I am a full time college student, as well as involved in a serious relationship. At times, the schedules of each conflict, but in order to maintain both, I make it work. Both have an impact on my future, so both deserve equal attention. Some may not be able to “juggle” a relationship during periods of personal growth, but may use a relationship as a goal when the growth is finished. To each his own.

It depends. The thing about romantic relationships is that it hits you out of no where, but once you have it, you have trouble being with out it. Before it hits you though, you are fine with out it.
Also remember that once you do experience it, it can alter and change your life and make you a much more happy person with meaning and purpose in your life. With out it, you are usually just another brick in the wall… -

I feel you have to be able to be happy alone without the “need” for a relationship. If you can not be happy by yourself then you will drain the relationship quickly. They are important to being well rounded. Ability to receive and give love, but not the most important thing in the world. I love my husband but can be happy doing our own things as well.

its not a necessity, i think you have to be able to make yourself happy and you can;t rely on anyone else for that, i’ve been single by choice for about 2 years now, I just don’t want a romantic relationship right now, I’m focusing on my career and my home, and I’m perfectly happy!

Who Makes The Most Technologically Advanced Luxury Car?

Is it the BMW 5 series, Mercedes E class, Hyundai Genesis, Lexus, Acura, Audi 8, Lincoln MKS, or the Porsche Panamera. The Hyundai Genesis looks so advanced as it is. It even has quite operating cooling fans for the radiator. Of all these cars, which one is the most technologically sophisticated?

Probably BMW. They put alot of research and effort into consumer surveys. Some of their cars have ventilated seats and seat heating that you can choose WHERE in the seat you would like to be heated.
Not to mention the iDrive. It is the center-console software that lets you control most every part of the car (adjusting preferences, to even telling you you need to schedule your next service). They are very advanced cars. -

Does Anyone Know Any Home Remedies For Unclogging A Drain?

My bathtub drain is clogged and I was wondering if anyone knows any home remedies for unclogging it. I need to use the shower before I leave so I wanted to find something at home I could do. A plunger won’t work because I have one of those drains with a plug that you pull up and down and a plunger just pushes it down. So if anyone as any ideas let me know. I do have another shower I can take I just wanted to use that as a last resort.

ahhh the shower drain stoppage do this= ( if your drain has an screw in the middle of it unscrew it use needle nose pliers to left the top drain (don’t let the screw go down the drain)
remove all hair visible to the eye and simply put the drain and screw back into place) it’s a heck of a lot cheaper to do it yourself than to have joe smoe drain & plumming company come in and take your wallet/credit card/check to calgon land w/ inflated charges and labor! -

I’d pour a quart of sulphuric acid down the drain as per instructions on the container. It’s available at any plumbing supply. No, Home Depot or Lowes sometimes does not carry it. Insurance reasons. -

I have always used baking soda and vinegar It bubbles and unclogs the drain pour baking soda in brain first then pour vinegar let bubble for awhile then pour HOT WATER down the drain. GOOD LUCK!

you can remove the drain plug, usually it justs twists to one side and you can pull it out, dont force it though. baking soda, white vineagar, let it sit for about 15 minutes, pour boiling water down it. would be a good idea to do this once a month, and to get one of those drain strainers to put over the drain to catch most of the debris that is causing your shower to clog. if that doesnt work, pick up some liquid plummer or drano-liquid, dont use the powdered stuff, because if that hardens, it is a —-to get freed up again, but for now try the boiling water trick..good luck

What I use is when in a hurry: some dish washing liquid detergent and I flush with hot water full force. When I have more time. 1Cup of Baking Soda, then add 1 cup of white Vinegar,this will foam, and then I flush it with hot water The second one can be used on all drains once a week to keep the drains open , is excellent for the environment and will save you money on buying the expensive drain cleaner. You should have clean drains at all times, if you put this to use. I hope this simple idea will help you, and feel free to inform your family and friends

If you think it is a hair clog, you can take a wire hangar apart and gently probe the clog. Be careful not to push it down further. See if you can hook some of the gunk and pull it out.
Boiling water also dissolves grease and soap scum, but run some hot water down the pipes and tub first — you can crack cold pipes and tub by heating them suddenly, so you need to heat them up gradually.
Baking soda and vinegar are also recommended. Followed by another dose of boiling water. -

If your tub has the stopper that you push down on “with your foot” to fill the tub up with, you will have to unscrew it like a bolt “remove it” and you have to plug the overflow above(using a wet cloth) that to utilize the “plunger method” . you may need a helper to hold the wet cloth while you plunge. On the other hand if you have a “lever type” tub plug do the same procedure as to hold lever open “with helper” and keep plunging with hot water! Not a fun job but it works if clog is in the drain trap only! If it’s farther than the trap try liquid plumber “foaming type” or call a plumber.

How Can You Keep A Keg Cool At The River Or Beach For 2+ Days?

My friends and I are settting out for our annual river beach weekend. We want to take a keg to cut down on the beer bottle trash, but we are at a loss as to how to keep a pony keg cool in the summer heat for the entire weekend. Ice blocks? Dry ice? Keg buried in the sand? Any help would be great!

Dig a hole in the sand it put it in there, then bury the sand around it.

Lots of ice with salt mixed in will keep the keg painfully cold. Perhaps bury a vessel in the sand, add the ice and salt, and then insulate it with sand/soil and other stuff to increase the longevity of the ice.
Putting it in the water is a good idea too just make sure it doesn’t float away or become submerged as a keg would likely allow water in eventually. -

What Can I Do About An Unfair Rental Reprimand That May End In Eviction?

I received a letter from my rental office stating that someone has seen me discarding trash on non-trash days. They stated that if the behavior persisted, I would be fined $25 per bag &, if it continued, a 30 day notice to vacate. I have never discarded trash on a non-garbage day & cannot stop behaviors I am not causing. How can I argue against this?

You ask them to prove it was you.
That means, the management company would have to go through the trash and find something in it with your name on it, or catch you on a security camera.
If you get a vacate notice, you’ll have the opportunity to go to court…WELCOME that invitation..b/c they won’t be able to prove it.
Do you have any conflicts with neighbors? That would be a good place to start. -

I am a little stunned to hear anyone has “trash days”. You have to keep your trash inside the house some days? That sounds very unreasonable to me.
I would not argue this too much. Simply state that they are mistaken, they must have mistook you for someone else, as you are very careful to only dispose of your trash on your designated day. -

I’m in agreement with those who say they should have some realistic proof, certainly something better than a “somebody saw you doing this” sort of anonymous witness. Besides, mistakes happen, especially if there’s something in the kitchen trash that smells like it needs to be in the outside trash bin!
Ask for proof, explain that it was most certainly not you, and ask that any black marks on your record as a tenant in this regard be removed. -

Where Can You Stay In Non Luxury Quiet Locations In The South Pacific?

My fiancee are hoping to spend two weeks honeymoon in the South Pacific somewhere approx March 2009.
Ideally we would like to find a very quiet location which isn’t overly over the top luxurious like all of the places we have seen so far by searching online.
We would like to avoid “resorts” and stay somewhere more genuine.
If any one has stayed anywhere they think would be suitable we would love to know.

Check out Tonga. Really laid back and only one decent hotel. It is so small that there is not an airport as such. Just a runway and a small barn like building that serves as a terminal.

If it’s a wired system, then yes they have to go through/behind the walls/floors/etc. It’s much easier for them to do this if you have unfinished space (eg attic or unfinished basement). Most will sell you wireless systems as well, which of course is easier to install. ADT is one of the top “name brand” companies, but their prices reflect that. Lower priced local companies can provide the same or similar service at a much lower price.

Any beach in So Cal will be at least 280 miles / 450 Km. or more from Las Vegas. Most beaches won’t be very crowded because (to us) it’s too cold, and windy there during December and January. I guess being from Alberta you’ll think it’s bikini weather. Pick anywhere from San Clemente in Orange County, to Malibu in Los Angeles County.
