The reason I ask is i think because if they could charge you for it, they would. (I just posted this question “for free” and “around the world” yet it would have cost me to text this).

Wwi - What Is The Difference Between Strategy And Tactics?
admin
I’m studying WWI in class, and I have a question about the Battle of Jutland. On the point of who won or lost, a lot of sources say the British won strategically, but lost tactically, while the Germans lost strategically, but won tactically. What is the difference between strategy and tactics?

Tactics are the methods used to fight and win individual battles.
Strategy is the methods you use to bring your opponent to battle on the terms most advantageous to yourself.
In a wider sense, strategy is the art or science of the conduct and planning of a war or campaign,a particular plan or plans for long term success.
Tactics are the detailed direction and control of the movement and actions of forces in battle to achieve a particular short term aim or task.
As regards Jutland, the Germans won tactically because their plan to entice Beatty’s battle cruiser squadron into battle with their main fleet worked, until Jellicoe joined in with the main British fleet. The British lost more ships and men,so tactically they lost. However, strategically the Germans were forced to retreat to avoid destruction by Jellicoe’s main fleet. The British naval blockade – the long term plan to end the war by starving Germany into surrender – remained unaffected and in place, so the British won Jutland strategically. -

The basic difference is that tactics are your plan for winning the battle, and strategy is a plan to win the war. In the specific case of the Battle of Jutland, the Germans won the battle in a tactical sense in that inflicted considerably more damage than they sustained. The British won strategically because the German fleet retreated to port after the battle and never ventured forth in significant force again, effective conceding control of the seas to the British.

Often, “strategy” refers to a big-picture, long-term plan, while “tactic” refers to some short-term action that helps to advance the bigger plan. If my strategy is to win someone’s love, today’s tactic might be bringing her flowers. Tomorrow’s tactic might be giving her a back rub.

Strategy is a long-term, overall plan; tactics are short-term, day-to-day plans.

Tactics are basically for small manoeuvres whilst strategy is for the overall situation

Is It A Good Strategic Move To Start A Fight On Your First Day At A New Job?
admin
I learned going into prison that the best way to gain respect of your peers is to fight the biggest person there on your first day. Would this also work in a professional setting?

My Secret Identity
I think it is a brilliant idea.
However, if you would prefer a more subtle route, make yourself at home, and challenge anyone who gets in your way. For example, on your first day, it is completely reasonable to try everyone’s chairs and keep the most comfortable one, sample all the lunches in the break room, and assign everyone nicknames of your choice.
If anyone confronts you, you can then assert your dominance with the clever tools you have fashioned out of paper clips, ink pens, and staples.
Good luck! -

It only works best in the afternoon, after youve returned from your first lunch break smashed on a good cheap tequila and breath smelling like pickled eggs~

What Is A Specific Organization That Helps Teens That Are Involved With Gang Violence?
admin
im not involved in anything like this, but i am doing a theology essay and it asks me to find an organization that is specifically for teens that have to deal with gang violence. Does anyone know of any?
-
wishnuwe
I found a site called safe youth .org/ scripts/ prevention_programs .asp, and they had some links to programs like youth violence prevention and prevent youth violence and some information you might find helpful. I am not sure if Boys and Girls Clubs are really gang intervention, or more like a safe place for kids. Coach Tony Dungy of the Colts retired this year and he was working with local gang intervention, but I couldn’t find anything on the program he is involved in.

Does Innovation Only Occur At The Edge Of Reality?
admin
I think you confuse cause and effect.
Innovation generally occurs first, then reality as experience expands later to make room. So when the *idea* behind something innovative or “new” happens, it literally isn’t *real* or a proven thing yet. It doesn’t truly exist, or have a demonstrated, proven truth, *within* what we’d call reality. A hypothesis usually doesn’t get published until evidence at least shows the potential to make it a proven theory. A concept or blueprint is not sufficient to earn one a patent–you need an actual working device, line of code, something testable and provable.
So….I’d say by the time the innovation does occur in the sense of becoming a real, proven thing, what’s happened is, it’s become a part of reality, yes, but in the meantime, the “edge” or outer limit of “the real” has itself moved, either sprouting a new boundary or moving an existing one, so that the innovation itself lies within what we define as “the real”.
Innovation happens, and as it happens, the “edge”, so to speak, moves *away* from where the innovation shows up as reality expands to make room. It’s a raindrop hitting the surface of a pond…it’s all water adding to the total volume of the body of water, but once the drop hits the boundary, the drop itself disappears and the ripples move *away from* where that boundary was broken. Reality *has* an edge courtesy of an innovation occurring, then being folded into reality, it is the ripple spreading outward from where the idea broke through.
This is not to say that these ripples or edges can’t engender *other, new* innovations, only that usually speaking, the idea comes first, and becomes an innovation as it gets real.
I hope I was clear and not *too* terribly repetitive and redundant. ^_^ Thanks for your time!-

well if there is no reality only an idea then that idea would be beyond reality. if there is an idea that is already reality and you cange that idea…would that be innovation at the edge of reality?
-
Bradley P
well, if it is original, then maybe yes because it’s called ‘innovation’ which has its root word in ‘novus’ which means new. If it’s new, that means it has never existed before, it must come from somewhere other than existence.
-
Bradley P
Innovation occurs when there is imagination. We don’t know where finite reality ends so we can only say that innovation occurs at the edge of our discovered reality…
-
Bradley P
Innovation is a nice word but only existing things in reality can be innovated not beyond that. To be pricise innovation is nothing but identifying things and concepts which is already existing. Nothing can be innovative which is beyond our thinking limit. So it always fit within reality.

Nope. I am innovative every day, and I am very grounded in reality. Just ask my friend, Xrecknop.
